OnLayer Privacy Policy

This policy outlines the privacy standards of the OnLayer app, designed for split-screen camera photography and slide comparison.

Effective Date: February 3, 2026

1. Overview

OnLayer (hereinafter referred to as the “App“) protects users' personal information and complies with relevant laws and regulations, including the Personal Information Protection Act.

This Privacy Policy is designed to transparently inform you of how the App collects, uses, and stores your information, as well as the protective measures taken.

The App utilizes only the minimum information necessary to provide services and will never use it for any purposes other than those specified.

2. Information Collected

2-1. Information Provided Directly by the User

Email Address

Inquiries sent by the user through the “Contact Us” feature within the App.
The App does not automatically collect user email addresses; it only receives them when a user voluntarily sends an inquiry email.

2-2. Data Stored on Device Storage

Photos taken using the App's camera.
Images voluntarily selected by the user from the device gallery (Photos app)
Edited results created through split-screen, slide comparison, text overlays, etc. (Images, GIFs, Project files, etc.).

※ The above data is stored exclusively on the user’s device (local storage) and is not automatically transmitted to or collected by the App's server.

3. Information Not Collected

The App does not automatically collect the following information or continuously transmit it to any server.

Facial recognition and biometric data (Fingerprint, Face ID, etc.)
Precise location data (GPS, etc.)
Contacts, Address book, and Calendar events
Tracking via Advertising IDs (IDFA, AAID, etc.)
Unique Device Identifiers (IMEI, Serial Number, etc.)
Automatic backup or continuous uploading of photos for analysis without explicit consent

However, only when a user manually executes the 'Backup' feature, images and related settings within the selected project are transmitted to the backup server.

4. Purpose of Information Use

5. Data Storage and Retention Period

5-1. Local Data

Split-capture results, slide projects, and text overlay settings are stored locally on the user's device by default.
If the user uninstalls the App, data stored on the device may be deleted in accordance with the Operating System (OS) policies.

5-2. Cloud Backup Data

Only when a user explicitly executes the backup feature, the selected project data is stored in the cloud (e.g., Firebase).
Backup data is retained until the user requests its deletion or as long as necessary for service operations (within the scope of legal retention obligations).
When a user uses the 'Restore' feature, the corresponding backup data is downloaded back to the device to recover the project.

5-3. Customer Support Emails

The App only receives inquiry emails sent directly by users.
Emails are retained for the period necessary for inquiry handling and service improvement, and are destroyed within one year in principle.

6. Transmission to External Servers

The App does not arbitrarily upload your photos, text, or project data to any server.

However, information is transmitted in the following limited cases for service provision

6-1. In-App Purchase Verification

Payment receipt information provided by the App Store / Google Play may be used to verify subscription status.
Your photos or editing contents are not included in this process.

6-2. Optional Cloud Backup/Restore

Only when a user manually executes the 'Backup' or 'Restore' feature, project data is stored in or retrieved from the cloud.
Backup items include project titles, structural information (slot configuration, text overlays, rotation/zoom/position values, etc.), and image files within the project.
Backup data is transmitted to cloud services like Firebase via encrypted communication (HTTPS) and is used exclusively for restoration purposes.
Users can delete backup data or stop using the backup feature within the App, after which no new data will be stored on the server.

7. Provision and Sharing with Third Parties

In principle, the App does not sell or arbitrarily provide users' personal information to third parties.

However, information may be provided only in the following exceptional cases

When there is a lawful request from investigative or regulatory authorities in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
When the user has provided prior consent.

Payment information for in-app purchases is processed securely through Apple and Google's payment systems. The App is designed such that it cannot access your payment method details (e.g., card numbers), and therefore, it does not store or retain any payment information.

8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The App does not use any advertising SDKs within the service and does not utilize cookies or behavioral tracking technologies.

If tools for statistical analysis or error reporting (SDKs, etc.) are added in the future to improve service stability, the App will notify you of the items collected and the purpose in advance and update this policy accordingly.

9. Permission Usage Guide

9-1. Camera Permission

Used to provide split-shooting and Ghost Guide (image overlay) features

9-2. Photos/Media/Files Permission

Used to import photos from the gallery or to save edited results (Images, GIFs).
If this permission is not granted, certain features of the App, such as saving and importing, may be restricted.

10. User Rights

Users can directly check and manage (edit, delete, etc.) data stored on their device and in the cloud at any time through the settings within the App.
If direct checking is difficult, users may request to confirm the status of their information (Access), such as inquiry history or cloud backup data, or request its deletion via inquiry email.
Upon receiving a user's request, the App will conduct a verification process and take necessary actions without delay in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

11. Security Measures for Information Protection

The App implements the following technical measures to ensure the secure management of user information

OS-level Security: The App stores data using standard security mechanisms provided by the Android and iOS operating systems.
Data Transmission Encryption: When data transmission via a network is required (e.g., payment verification, cloud backup), the App uses encrypted communication methods such as HTTPS (TLS) to prevent information leakage during transmission.
Continuous Security Management: To prevent unauthorized access, alteration, or leakage of information, the App continuously monitors and improves its security standards.

12. Children's Privacy

The App is not designed for children under the age of 14, and it does not intentionally collect personal information from children.

If a parent or legal guardian believes that a child's information has been collected and requests its deletion, the App will take immediate action to delete the data upon verification.

13. Changes to the Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be modified in accordance with changes in relevant laws or updates and modifications to the service.

In the event of significant changes, the App will provide notice in advance through in-app announcements or store update logs.
Any changes shall take effect on the separately specified effective date.

Quick Start

Start comparisons immediately by selecting 2-split / 3-split / 4-split layouts from Split Camera on the home screen.
Add text using the Text button and freely adjust the position and angle with drag and pinch gestures.

Slide Features Guide

1. What are Slides?

OnLayer’s Slide is a core feature that overlays two or more photos, allowing you to compare them in real-time by swiping left and right. It is optimized for tracking subtle differences—such as Before/After shots, makeup or skin tone changes, and photo edits—that are often hard to spot in standard photos.

2. How to Create a Slide

Select 'Create Slide' from the Home screen.
Add two or more photos to the project for comparison.
Move the slider left and right with your finger on the slide screen for a seamless comparison.
Using Ghost Guide: From the second photo onwards, the 'Ghost Guide' feature allows you to align your shots perfectly by overlaying a faint image of the previous photo.
Individually customize each image by adding Text or adjusting Rotation / Zoom / Position.

3. Why do the photos overlap in certain modes?

OnLayer offers two transition styles: 'Normal' and 'Fade'.
While 'Normal' mode provides a clean, sharp transition, 'Fade' mode uses an 'Overlay Method' where images blend during playback or swiping.
In Fade mode, the top layer blends progressively over the bottom one to help you intuitively track even the slightest changes in the subject’s position.

The softened transition line in Fade mode is an intentional design choice to provide a more seamless and natural comparison.

4. Exporting as GIF

Turn your slide projects into dynamic 'Animated Comparison GIFs'

Speed Control: Choose your preferred pace from Slow, Normal, Slightly Fast, or Fast.
Effect Selection: Choose between 'Normal' for a clean transition or 'Fade' for a smooth overlay.
Maintain Edits: All your manual edits—including movement, rotation, and zoom—are perfectly captured in the GIF.
Instant Sharing: View your GIFs in the gallery and share them immediately via SNS or messaging apps.

5. Saving Slides & Project Management

Slide works are saved as 'Projects', allowing you to resume editing at any time without starting over.

Flexible Re-editing: After saving a project, you can update the following items at any time.

Cloud Backup & Sync

Secure your work by logging in and using the 'Backup' feature.

6. FAQ – Slides

Q. I want to adjust the slide transition speed.

When saving as GIF: You can change the speed by tapping the speed button (Slow, Normal, Slightly Fast, Fast) located to the right of the 'Normal / Fade' effects on the save screen.
In Preview: The playback screen within the app is designed to react in real-time to the speed of your finger's movement (swipe).

Q. The saved GIF appears black or glitchy.

Cause: Frame capture errors may occur due to a temporary lack of device memory (RAM) when many filters (movement, rotation, or zoom) are applied to high-resolution photos.
Solution: Please update the app to the latest version. Try closing other running apps to free up memory, or save your project and restart the app before trying again.

1. Subscriptions & Payments

Q. My Premium subscription is not being applied.

Please tap the 'Restore Purchase' button in the app's Settings.
Make sure you are logged into the same Apple ID or Google account used for the purchase.
If the issue persists, please contact us via email with a screenshot of your payment receipt.

Q. I want to cancel my subscription.

iOS: You can cancel by going to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions and selecting the OnLayer subscription.
Android: You can cancel via Google Play Store > Profile > Payments & Subscriptions > Subscriptions.

2. Photo Saving / Permission Issues

Q. I can't save photos to the gallery.

Please check if you granted photo/media access permissions when you first launched the app.
Go to Device Settings > OnLayer > Photos and ensure it is set to "Full Access" or "Add Photos Only."
For Android 13 or higher, the "Photos and videos" permission must be enabled.

3. Projects / Backup

Q. My project disappeared.

Please check if any search terms or split-type filters are applied in the Projects tab.
Please note that locally stored projects may be deleted if you uninstall and reinstall the app.

Q. How do I transfer my data to another device?

OnLayer provides Cloud Backup & Restore features when you log in through the Settings page.
Log in on your current device and run 'Backup' to securely store your project data in the cloud.
Log in with the same account on your new device and run 'Restore' to retrieve your work and pick up where you left off.

1. 개요

OnLayer(이하 “앱”)은 사용자의 개인정보를 소중히 보호하며, 「개인정보 보호법」 등 관련 법령을 준수합니다.

본 개인정보 처리방침은 앱이 사용자의 정보를 어떻게 수집·이용·보관하고, 어떠한 보호 조치를 취하는지 투명하게 안내하기 위해 마련되었습니다.

앱은 서비스 제공에 필요한 최소한의 정보만을 사용하며, 명시된 목적 외의 용도로는 절대 이용하지 않습니다.

2. 수집하는 정보

2-1. 사용자가 직접 제공하는 정보

사용자가 앱을 삭제하는 경우, 운영체제(OS) 정책에 따라 기기에 저장된 앱 데이터는 함께 삭제될 수 있습니다.

5-2. 클라우드 백업 데이터

사용자가 명시적으로 백업 기능을 실행한 경우에 한하여, 선택한 프로젝트 데이터가 클라우드(예: Firebase)에 저장됩니다.
백업 데이터는 사용자가 백업 삭제를 요청하거나, 서비스 운영상 불가피한 경우(법적 보존 의무가 없는 범위 내)까지 보관됩니다.

6. 외부 서버 전송 여부

현재 앱은 사용자의 사진, 텍스트, 프로젝트 데이터를 임의로 서버에 업로드하지 않습니다.

다만, 다음과 같은 경우에는 서비스 제공을 위해 제한적으로 정보가 전송됩니다.

6-1. 인앱 결제(IAP) 검증

App Store / Google Play에서 제공하는 결제 영수증 정보가 구독 상태 확인을 위해 사용될 수 있습니다.
이 과정에서 사용자의 사진이나 내용은 포함되지 않습니다.

6-2. 선택형 클라우드 백업/복원 기능

사용자가 직접 '백업' 또는 '복원' 기능을 실행한 경우에 한해, 프로젝트 데이터를 클라우드에 저장하거나 다시 내려받습니다.
백업 대상에는 프로젝트 제목, 구조 정보(슬롯 구성, 텍스트 오버레이, 회전/확대/위치 값 등) 및 프로젝트에 포함된 이미지 파일이 포함됩니다.
백업 데이터는 Firebase 등 클라우드 서비스에 암호화된 통신(HTTPS)으로 전송되며, 복원 기능 제공 목적 외에는 사용되지 않습니다.
사용자는 앱 내에서 백업 데이터를 삭제하거나 백업 기능 이용을 중단할 수 있으며, 이 경우 신규 데이터는 더 이상 서버에 저장되지 않습니다.

7. 제3자 제공 및 공유

직접 확인이 어려운 경우, 사용자는 문의 메일을 통해 자신이 제공한 정보(문의 내역, 클라우드 백업 데이트 등)의 보유 현황 확인(열람) 및 삭제를 요청할 수 있습니다.
앱은 사용자의 요청을 받으면 본인 확인 절차를 거쳐 관련 법령에 다라 지체 없이 조치하겠습니다.

슬라이드 기능 안내

1. 슬라이드란 무엇인가요?

OnLayer의 슬라이드는 두 장 이상의 사진을 하나로 겹쳐, 좌우로 스와이프 하며 실시간으로 비교할 수 있는 핵심 기능입니다. 주로 전/후 비교, 메이크업/피부 톤 변화, 보정 전후 차이 등 일반 사진으로는 찾기 힘든 미세한 차이를 확인하는 데 최적화되어 있습니다.

2. 슬라이드 만드는 방법

홈 화면에서 슬라이드 만들기를 선택합니다.
프로젝트에 비교할 사진을 두 장 이상 추가합니다.
슬라이드 화면에서 손가락으로 슬라이더를 좌우로 움직여 자연스럽게 비교할 수 있습니다.
고스트 가이드 활용: 두 번째 사진부터는 '고스트 가이드' 기능을 통해 이전 사진의 잔상을 보며 위치를 정확히 맞춰 촬영할 수 있습니다.
각 이미지에 텍스트를 추가하거나 회전 / 확대 / 위치를 개별적으로 상세 조정할 수 있습니다.

3. 특정 모드에서 사진이 겹쳐 보이는 이유는?

OnLayer는 '일반' 모드와 '페이드' 모드 두가지 전환 방식을 제공합니다.
'일반' 모드는 화면 겹침 없이 깔끔하게 전환되지만, '페이드' 모드에서는 재생하거나 스와이프할 때 사진이 서로 겹쳐 보이는 '오버레이(Overlay) 방식'을 사용합니다.
페이드 모드에서 사진이 투명하게 겹치며 나타나는 것은 피사체의 미세한 위치 변화를 더 직관적으로 관찰할 수 있도록 돕기 위한 기능힙니다.

중앙 경계선을 부드럽게 처리한 것은 두 사진의 차이를 더 자연스럽게 대조하기 위한 의도적인 디자인입니다.

4. GIF로 내보내기

슬라이드 프로젝트를 생동감 넘치는 '움직이는 비교 영상(GIF)'으로 제작해 보세요.

속도제어: 느림, 보통, 조금 빠르게, 빠르게 중 원하는 속도를 선택하여 GIF를 만들 수 있습니다.
효과 선택: 깔끔한 화면 전환의 '일반' 모드와 부드럽게 겹쳐지는 '페이드' 모드 중 선택이 가능합니다.
편집 사항 유지: 사진의 이동, 회전, 확대 등 공들여 작업한 모든 편집 내용이 GIF에 그대로 반영됩니다.

5. 슬라이드 저장 & 프로젝트 관리
