OnLayer Privacy Policy

1. Overview
OnLayer (hereinafter referred to as the “App“) protects users' personal information and complies with relevant laws and regulations, including the Personal Information Protection Act.
This Privacy Policy is designed to transparently inform you of how the App collects, uses, and stores your information, as well as the protective measures taken.
The App utilizes only the minimum information necessary to provide services and will never use it for any purposes other than those specified.
2. Information Collected
2-1. Information Provided Directly by the User
- Email Address
- Inquiries sent by the user through the “Contact Us” feature within the App.
- The App does not automatically collect user email addresses; it only receives them when a user voluntarily sends an inquiry email.
2-2. Data Stored on Device Storage
- Photos taken using the App's camera.
- Images voluntarily selected by the user from the device gallery (Photos app)
- Edited results created through split-screen, slide comparison, text overlays, etc. (Images, GIFs, Project files, etc.).
※ The above data is stored exclusively on the user’s device (local storage) and is not automatically transmitted to or collected by the App's server.
3. Information Not Collected
The App does not automatically collect the following information or continuously transmit it to any server.
- Facial recognition and biometric data (Fingerprint, Face ID, etc.)
- Precise location data (GPS, etc.)
- Contacts, Address book, and Calendar events
- Tracking via Advertising IDs (IDFA, AAID, etc.)
- Unique Device Identifiers (IMEI, Serial Number, etc.)
- Automatic backup or continuous uploading of photos for analysis without explicit consent
However, only when a user manually executes the 'Backup' feature, images and related settings within the selected project are transmitted to the backup server.
4. Purpose of Information Use

5. Data Storage and Retention Period
5-1. Local Data
- Split-capture results, slide projects, and text overlay settings are stored locally on the user's device by default.
- If the user uninstalls the App, data stored on the device may be deleted in accordance with the Operating System (OS) policies.
5-2. Cloud Backup Data
- Only when a user explicitly executes the backup feature, the selected project data is stored in the cloud (e.g., Firebase).
- Backup data is retained until the user requests its deletion or as long as necessary for service operations (within the scope of legal retention obligations).
- When a user uses the 'Restore' feature, the corresponding backup data is downloaded back to the device to recover the project.
5-3. Customer Support Emails
- The App only receives inquiry emails sent directly by users.
- Emails are retained for the period necessary for inquiry handling and service improvement, and are destroyed within one year in principle.
6. Transmission to External Servers
The App does not arbitrarily upload your photos, text, or project data to any server.
However, information is transmitted in the following limited cases for service provision
6-1. In-App Purchase Verification
- Payment receipt information provided by the App Store / Google Play may be used to verify subscription status.
- Your photos or editing contents are not included in this process.
6-2. Optional Cloud Backup/Restore
- Only when a user manually executes the 'Backup' or 'Restore' feature, project data is stored in or retrieved from the cloud.
- Backup items include project titles, structural information (slot configuration, text overlays, rotation/zoom/position values, etc.), and image files within the project.
- Backup data is transmitted to cloud services like Firebase via encrypted communication (HTTPS) and is used exclusively for restoration purposes.
- Users can delete backup data or stop using the backup feature within the App, after which no new data will be stored on the server.
7. Provision and Sharing with Third Parties
In principle, the App does not sell or arbitrarily provide users' personal information to third parties.
However, information may be provided only in the following exceptional cases
- When there is a lawful request from investigative or regulatory authorities in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
- When the user has provided prior consent.
Payment information for in-app purchases is processed securely through Apple and Google's payment systems. The App is designed such that it cannot access your payment method details (e.g., card numbers), and therefore, it does not store or retain any payment information.
8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
The App does not use any advertising SDKs within the service and does not utilize cookies or behavioral tracking technologies.
If tools for statistical analysis or error reporting (SDKs, etc.) are added in the future to improve service stability, the App will notify you of the items collected and the purpose in advance and update this policy accordingly.
9. Permission Usage Guide
9-1. Camera Permission
- Used to provide split-shooting and Ghost Guide (image overlay) features
9-2. Photos/Media/Files Permission
- Used to import photos from the gallery or to save edited results (Images, GIFs).
- If this permission is not granted, certain features of the App, such as saving and importing, may be restricted.
10. User Rights
- Users can directly check and manage (edit, delete, etc.) data stored on their device and in the cloud at any time through the settings within the App.
- If direct checking is difficult, users may request to confirm the status of their information (Access), such as inquiry history or cloud backup data, or request its deletion via inquiry email.
- Upon receiving a user's request, the App will conduct a verification process and take necessary actions without delay in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
11. Security Measures for Information Protection
The App implements the following technical measures to ensure the secure management of user information
- OS-level Security: The App stores data using standard security mechanisms provided by the Android and iOS operating systems.
- Data Transmission Encryption: When data transmission via a network is required (e.g., payment verification, cloud backup), the App uses encrypted communication methods such as HTTPS (TLS) to prevent information leakage during transmission.
- Continuous Security Management: To prevent unauthorized access, alteration, or leakage of information, the App continuously monitors and improves its security standards.
12. Children's Privacy
The App is not designed for children under the age of 14, and it does not intentionally collect personal information from children.
If a parent or legal guardian believes that a child's information has been collected and requests its deletion, the App will take immediate action to delete the data upon verification.
13. Changes to the Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be modified in accordance with changes in relevant laws or updates and modifications to the service.
- In the event of significant changes, the App will provide notice in advance through in-app announcements or store update logs.
- Any changes shall take effect on the separately specified effective date.
